Key Knicks Rotational Player to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery
The New York Knicks have been one of the most exciting teams all year long. They are one win away from advancing to the semifinal round for the second straight year.
New York has dealt with adversity throughout the season and had multiple players go down with injuries. Mitchell Robinson missed time with an ankle injury and Julius Randle went down with a season-ending shoulder injury.
Even in the playoffs, the Knicks are still being slammed with the injury bug.
Knicks News: Bojan Bogdanovic Expected to Miss the Reminder of the Season
According to the Shams Charania, New York forward Bojan Bogdanovic is going to have season-ending surgery to repair foot and wrist injuries.
He was dealing with that wrist injury for a while but things changed on Sunday. In Game 4, Bogdanovic checked in the game and got hurt immediately. The 35-year-old was chasing a loose ball and got tied up with Philadelphia forward Nicolas Batum, who landed on his left ankle.
He ended up leaving the game and didn't return. Now he's out for the remainder of the season.
Bogdanovic and Alec Burks were acquired from the Detroit Pistons at the trade deadline to add more depth to the roster.
In 29 games with the Knicks, Bogdanovic averaged 10.4 points, two rebounds, and shot 37% from beyond the arc. In Game 1, he came off the bench and scored 13 points while knocking down three 3-pointers.
The Knicks will now have to rely on their depth as they have a chance to move onto the next round of the postseason.
