Jets Tease Exciting Offseason Jersey News
Super Bowl LVIII has now concluded and teams have shifted their focus to 2024. The New York Jets wasted no time making an announcement to the fanbase. There has been speculation surrounding the Jets getting new uniforms.
They confirmed the news and revealed the team will unveil new uniforms in April. Owner Woody Johnson went on Twitter to make a post for the fans.
In the social media post, Johnson verified that the Legacy White uniform, which debuted in 2023, will become a permanent look and be accompanied by black alternates and a green version as the home look for the jersey.
The white jerseys were originally worn by New York from 1978-89, infamously worn by the Sack Exchange. The jerseys have two green stripes on the sleeve, a green collar, green numbers, and white pants with a single green stripe down the sides. They also wear green socks with the look.
This design was worn on two different occasions in 2023, making its debut in the Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills. They were also worn in the Week 4 tilt against the Kansas City Chiefs.
It's been five years since the Jets revealed new uniforms. Those jerseys had a wing-like design on the shoulders and included an all-black alternate that had a Stealth Black helmet. Since 2019, New York has gone 27-56 with these uniforms. It's time for a rebrand.
The Jets now become the fourth team to officially announce new uniforms ahead of the 2024 season. They joined the Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans.
