The New York Jets know how massive this offseason is and how the pressure is mounting for a bounce-back campaign. They need to win and they need to win now.

GM Joe Douglas made it an emphasis to rebuild the offensive line, signing Tyron Smith and John Simpson and also trading for Morgan Moses. With a more than capable offensive line now assembled, the Jets need to shift their attention to filling out the rest of the roster.

They have a workhorse in Breece Hall leading the charge in the backfield but they need to add a backup RB to the rotation. Former Patriots running Ezekiel Elliott is an intriguing option that New York should look at bringing in.

The Jets need a short-area tailback who can also excel in the red zone. Getting someone that holds their own in pass-protection is also a plus and Elliott still does all these things at a high level.

The Ohio State product joined New England last year and played well for them. He finished with 642 rushing yards, 313 receiving yards, and five total scores.

A potential addition of Elliott to the squad would give the Jets a nice thunder-and-lightning duo in the backfield. It doesn't hurt to add a quality veteran to the locker room as well.

Regardless if they add Elliott to the team, the Jets will likely start the season as an underdog to win the AFC East. They are currently behind the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins at +260 to win the division.
