Jets Schedule: Predicting the Results of the Jets Four Games in September

The expectations for the 2024 New York Jets could not be any higher, the month of September proves to be a quick start to the season.

The moment New York Jets fans have been waiting for is finally here. The build up and anticipation for the return of Aaron Rodgers is finally over, as the 40 year-old veteran looks to take the Jets to the postseason for the first time since 2010. With the landscape of the Jets schedule it is hard to find a stretch of games they should not win on paper. However, it is going to be crucial for not just Rodgers but the entire roster to stay healthy.

Regardless of who is lining up against the Jets in September the offense is going to have to get off to a quick start. 2023 was not kind, with former 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson under center. The Jets ranked dead last in red zone offense (32.4%) and third down offense (26.0%), and that simply can not fly this year given how elite the defense is. With that being said, Aaron Rodgers will be the answer to those solutions come Monday night in San Francisco.

When looking at the first four games of the season for the Jets the Monday night opener will only help them regardless of the outcome. After everything that happened in the beginning of the 2023 season this will be the ultimate test that can set the Jets up for a successful season.

Here is my official game-by-game prediction for the Jets first four games of the season.

1. Week 1: at San Francisco 49ers (Monday, Sept. 9, 8:20 PM ET)

The New York Jets open the season on Monday night for the second straight year, this time against the defending NFC champions. The 49ers mission remains the same this year looking to get back to the Super Bowl for the third time in six years. While I ultimately think the Jets will have a successful year that results in a trip to the playoffs, this game is going to be won in the trenches. The 49ers have the better rushing attack, and that will lead to a Week 1 Jets loss.

Prediction: 49ers 21, Jets 20

2. Week 2: at Tennessee Titans (Sunday, Sept. 15,1:00 PM ET)

After a long fought battle in week one the Jets hit the road again, this time in Tennessee facing off against a questionable Titans team. Last season the Titans had one of the most underrated defenses in the league, leading the charge in red zone defense. The offensive side of the ball is a different story, and I do not see the Titans being able to drive the ball down field to get past the Jets.

Prediction: Jets 24, Titans 10

3. Week 3: vs New England Patriots (Thursday, Sept. 19, 8:15 PM ET)

The Jets finally return home in Week 3 to take on their arch rival New England Patriots, who will more than likely have Jacoby Brissett under center. Given the short week it will be a slower start to the game, but with a lackluster New England offensive line the Jets will create pressure every single snap, ending in a Patriots loss.

Prediction: Jets 17, Patriots 6

4. Week 4: vs Denver Broncos (Sunday, Sept. 29, 1:00 PM ET)

After getting some much-needed rest following the Thursday night game, the Jets will have ample time to prepare for rookie quarterback Bo Nix. While the expectation for the rookie is to produce right from game, one the Broncos will have no answer for is the Jets' run game. Nix will also have a tough day at the office going up against this Jet defense.

Prediction: Jets 28, Broncos 7

Final record prediction for the month of September: 3-1
