Jets 7-Round Mock Draft: An Offensive Infusion to Boost AFC East Title Hopes
72nd Overall Pick - Roman Wilson - Wide Receiver
The Jets can still use one receiver outside paired with Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams. Here New York lands Michigan receiver Roman Wilson, a versatile weapon the team can deploy in the receiving game.
Wilson is a raw athlete with explosiveness and speed, all while being dynamic as a route runner despite being undersized. In a limited Michigan offense, Wilson had 48 catches for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The biggest concern for the Jets will be his injury history, but, his talent is enough to roll the dice.
111th Overall Pick - Calen Bullock - Safety
The Jets have a hole at safety after the departure of Jordan Whitehead. New York hasn't addressed this in free agency meaning, Joe Douglas will likely address it in the NFL Draft. Here the Jets land who may be the best safety in the country in Calen Bullock out of USC.
Since 2022, PFF grades Bullock's coverage at 90.8 while having seven interceptions (which ranked fourth in college football) and 11 pass breakups (which ranked third). Bullock is an instinctive playmaker who can step in from day one and help the Jets create turnovers.
At the NFL, Bullock will need to add some mass as his skinny frame hurt him in making solo tackles, especially on bigger players. At the end of the day, adding a player of Bullock's caliber to the loaded Jets defense would be a massive win for Joe Douglas.
134th Overall Pick - Brenden Rice - Wide Receiver
Here the Jets land a second wide receiver and a second USC Trojan in Brenden Rice. He is the son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, and has been incredibly productive over his two seasons at USC. This season Rice recorded 45 catches for 791 yards and 12 touchdowns despite struggles for USC in the second half.
Not only does Rice bring excitement on offense but, he's electric as a returner which he showed at Colorado. Rice's size and athleticism should excite especially as he'll continue to work on his route running.
While he continues to develop Rice could provide an impact as a rotational piece for the Jets.
