The New York Giants have a long list of questions they need to answer over the next few months before the 2024 season begins. How will they improve the offensive line? Is Daniel Jones the answer going forward? Will the Giants find another playmaker in free agency or the NFL Draft?

Now, another potential problem has come to light. Tight end Darren Waller is contemplating retiring during the offseason.

Giants Rumors: Darren Waller is Thinking About Retirement

The Giants met with Waller's agent Drew Rosenhaus at the NFL Scouting Combine and were under the assumption that he would be returning to Big Blue in 2024.

Waller caught wind of that news and wanted to clear up the air. The Georgia Tech product told to NY Post he is "still undecided" if he wants to continue playing.

It's been reported that the Giants front office was not aware that Waller was thinking about walking away even though he expressed to members of the organization his desire to retire after the 2023 season.

Last year, New York sent over a third-round pick (No.100 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for Waller. There were high expectations for Waller heading into last season but things never got off the ground.

Waller suffered multiple hamstring strains that forced him to miss five games. He managed to reel in 52 receptions for 552 yards and just one score.

It's been a tough couple of years for the 31-year-old as the hamstring injuries have lingered since 2021.

In 2024, Waller is scheduled to have a $10.5 million base salary and would be a $14 million dead cap hit if he was let go.

If Waller decides to walk away the Giants would have another void to fill on their offense.
