Nearly every team has either a celebrity fan or a franchise icon announcing their day two selections in the NFL Draft. The Giants hold the 47th overall pick in the second round and the 70th overall pick in the third round.

Giants News: Tiki Barber Announcing Day 2 Draft Picks

Both of the New York Giants Day 2 selections will be announced by the Giants all-time leading rusher Tiki Barber. During his career, Barber was named a first-team All-Pro in 2005, making three Pro Bowls from 2004-2006 and earning a spot in the New York Giants ring of honor.

A late bloomer, Barber had his first 1,000-yard season in 2000 (his fourth as a pro) and then went on to rush for 1,200-plus yards in five consecutive seasons from 2002 through his final year in 2006, averaging a stellar 1,528.6 yards per season during that stretch. He led the NFL in yards from scrimmage in both 2004 and 2005.

The Giants may be one of the most active teams on Day 2, as Joe Schoen has shown a knack for trading around the board in the middle rounds of the draft. The Giants may look to trade back, acquiring more draft capital, or they may look to move up possibly for a quarterback if someone like Bo Nix is still available in Round 2.

The team could make a few fitting selections on day two which would be exciting to see Barber announce. The Giants may look to draft their next featured running back and who better than Tiki Barber to announce that selection? The Giants have shown interest in Florida State running back Trey Benson who could be the team's third round selection.

Despite retiring nearly 15 years ago, Barber still holds a massive stranglehold on New Yorkers. Barber has risen in popularity since retiring as he's started working as a co-host on WFAN. This may also point to why Tiki Barber was against the team trading away additional draft picks to select a quarterback.

Day 1 will Decide Day 2 for the Giants

The Giants activity on Day 1 will determine how active the team is on Day 2 of the draft. Should the Giants trade up in the draft for a quarterback, they may have only one Day 2 pick. Should the Giants miss out on a quarterback, then the team may look to Michael Penix Jr or Bo Nix in the second round. Buckle up because the Giants can truly go hundreds of different ways in this year's draft.
