While the offseason always brings plenty of uncertainty, this one's going to be especially big for the New York Giants. With uncertainty in the coaching staff and in the future of the quarterback position, there's a ton that could change.

But one thing that is always certain is that the NFL Draft is going to have a major impact on the future of the franchise. And this year's NFL Draft order is set for non-playoff teams.

Here's a look at every pick the Giants hold in the draft, including a look at what trades went down to land them with the array of picks they hold.

Why Do the Giants' Picks Alternate?

You'll notice a strange trend in the Giants' picks — they don't hold the same pick in every round like teams usually do. They alternate between picking sixth (starting in the first round and continuing in every odd-numbered round) and picking seventh (in even-numbered rounds). This is because the Giants and Tennessee Titans finished with the same record in the regular season.

When this happens, tiebreakers (the same as would be applied for playoff seeding) are applied to determine who has the higher pick in Round 1, but then the pick alternates (or rotates, in the event of a tie between three teams or more) in future rounds.

Giants 2024 Draft Trades

Of course, as you can tell from the Giants holding the Seahawks' 2nd-round pick and not having any selections in Round 7, there have also been a couple of trades. Here's how those went down:

  • Giants received a 2024 2nd-round pick (No. 47 overall) and a 2025 5th-round pick from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Leonard Williams
  • Giants received Isaiah Simmons from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for their 2024 7th-round pick (No. 223 overall)

Compensatory Picks

Every year, teams are awarded what are called compensatory picks based on qualifying free agents signed or lost the previous offseason. These aren't announced until closer to the draft, however the Giants are not projected to receive any compensatory picks in 2024.

Team Needs

Firmly planted in rebuilding mode, there's a lot that can be said about the New York Giants' team needs, and realistically just about any position on the roster could make this list. With that being said, some top priorities include:

  • Quarterback
  • Wide receiver
  • Offensive line (both tackle and guard)
  • Edge rusher
  • Defensive back (both corner and safety)
  • Running back
