Giants Add Another Former Bills Player to Their Roster
By Ryan Amick
The New York Giants have signed former Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, the team announced on Thursday. Phillips is a nine-year veteran who has spent most of his career in the AFC East.
Drafted in the second round of the 2015 draft by the Dolphins, Phillips played in Miami for over three seasons, recording six sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Upon being released during the 2018 season, Phillips landed with the Bills, where he would have his best years as a pro.
Phillips notched career highs in sacks (9.5), tackles for loss (13) and quarterback hits (16) during the 2019 campaign. Following his breakout season, Phillips signed with the Cardinals. Injuries slowed him down during his time in Arizona, limiting him to only 18 games over two seasons.
After being released by the Cardinals in 2022, Phillips returned for his second stint with the Bills. Phillips batted down a career-high five passes in 2023 despite having his season cut short by a wrist injury.
Phillips will reunite with plenty of familiar faces in East Rutherford. The Giants signed former Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and one-time Bills running back Devin Singletary earlier in the offseason. With Phillips now in the fold, the Giants add more depth to an already-stacked defensive front seven.
