The NFL Draft is just 17 days away and the New York Giants are certainly a team to watch. The Giants hold the sixth overall pick and can truly go several different ways although they're rumored to be eyeing a quarterback.

New York did a great job in free agency filling the team's needs, allowing Joe Schoen to select whoever the team sees as the best player available.

6th Overall Pick - JJ McCarthy - Quarterback

As the Draft approaches it's becoming clearer that the Giants plan on selecting their long-term quarterback in this draft. The Giants appear to be heavily interested in Michigan Quarterback JJ McCarthy, whom they spent Easter Sunday with.

The Michigan Quarterback is coming off of a National Championship season where he passed for 2,991 yards with 22 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also showed a rushing ability rushing for 202 yards and three touchdowns while including yards lost on sacks. McCarthy wasn't asked to do a ton at Michigan as the team was dominant running the football which makes evaluating him difficult.

Compared to the three quarterbacks at the top of the draft, McCarthy will need more time to develop, which makes the Giants a great landing spot. McCarthy can spend some time sitting behind Daniel Jones and Drew Lock until he's ready which will help in his development.
