Garrett Wilson has always implied that he wouldn't stay as No. 17. He alluded to it in April 2023. That officially looks like it's going to change in 2024. Punter Thomas Morstead wore No. 5 this season but he's officially passed it on to the stud receiver.

Wilson wore No. 5 during his three seasons at Ohio State from 2019-2021. The 2022 first-round has dealt with a lot of movement at the quarterback position in his first two seasons. Despite Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco, Trevor Siemian, Tim Boyle, Mike White, and Chris Streveler all being starters for different moments over the past two years, Wilson still cooked.

The 23-year-old secured 178 receptions for 2,145 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, including back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns. Even though Wilson is an ascending playmaker in the NFL, New York desperately needs another pass-catcher on the opposite side.

There is another receiver who wears No. 17 that may be available. And he has a great relationship with Aaron Rodgers. Yes, Devante Adams. He is one the best playmakers in the league and would form a dominant 1-2 punch for New York. Wilson also thinks that would be a great addition according to his X likes.

Adams had some of his best seasons when he was in Green Bay with Rodgers. The six-time Pro Bowl selection went north of 1,300 yards and 10-plus touchdowns from 2018-2021.

A duo featuring Adams and Wilson would be a dream for New York. Something Rodgers will definitely be pushing for behind the scenes. It will be a fascinating offseason for Jets fans.
