The New York Rangers had an interesting decision looming with their twelfth forward position as they prepare for the Florida Panthers. The team has used Matt Rempe in the role seven times, Jonny Brodzinski twice, and Filip Chytil just once this playoffs. The decision got even more difficult as Blake Wheeler has recovered from his injury and has begun skating with the team.

Peter Laviolette tries to keep personnel decisions close to the chest, however Chytil may have tipped the Rangers' hand. When speaking to the media Chytil said the following:

"I can't wait to be out there on the ice and enjoy the atmosphere, but most importantly to give them a win tomorrow and start 1-0."

Filip Chytil

The quote indicates that Chytil knows he'll be in the lineup when the Panthers and Rangers face off on Wednesday night. The Rangers have missed Chytil for the majority of the season as he's dealt with issues stemming from an early season concussion.

For this series, Chytil will bring a scoring presence that the bottom six can certainly use to take some pressure off of the top lines. This series Matt Rempe may have been a better fit as he can provide the team with physicality to offset that of the Florida Panthers.

Bottom Six Needs to get going

Playing Chytil very well may be the team's best option as it looks to jump start the bottom six in scoring. The two lines have combined for just five goals in 10 games while a majority of the scoring came against the Washington Capitals. If the team can get a boost from Filip Chytil then the Rangers will certainly take a step forward in five on five play where they've struggled all season.
