Rakeem Nunez-Roches - Defensive Line

The Giants signed Nunez-Roches this past offseason with the hopes of him spelling Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams. The trade of Williams to the Seahawks led to extended playing time for Nunez-Roches, however, the results were below what the Giants needed.

The veteran recorded half a sack while adding 26 tackles in 16 games played with four starts. The team will likely release the veteran tackle to save salary cap as the team will save nearly two million in cap space with the move.

The team will likely seek out a long-term replacement on the inside between days two and three of the NFL Draft. A few Day-Two candidates include Kris Jenkins, T'Vondre Sweat, Ruke Orhorhoro, and Leonard Taylor among several others.

On Day Three the team may look to add multiple players with the hope of developing them with players like Justin Eboigbe, Maason Smith, and Mekhi Wingo standing out among the group.

Azeez Ojulari - Edge Rusher

The team had high hopes for Azeez Ojulari after selecting the standout from Georgia in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. However, Ojulari hasn't lived up to expectations with inconsistent play and injuries slowing the career of the edge rusher.

Over the past two seasons, Ojulari has missed 16 games leaving the Giants often without a viable pass rusher opposite Kayvon Thibodeaux. In 2023, Ojulari recorded just 2.5 sacks with 16 tackles.

The team will likely look to add an edge rusher to split reps with Ojulari as the team can't count on him to play a full season at this point.

If the Giants look to add an edge rusher in the first round there will be several capable players in Dallas Turner, Laiatu Latu, Jared Verse, and Chop Robinson all expected to land in the first round. If the Giants select an edge rusher in the first round it's likely due to the team trading down in the draft.

Should the Giants choose to address edge on day two, some of the prospects to be familiar with are Chris Braswell, Bralen Trice, and Adisa Isaac.
