The New York Giants had a rotating cast at guard this season with injuries derailing the seasons of Shane Lemieux, Josh Ezeudu, and Wyatt Davis. The team used veterans Mark Glowinski and Justin Pugh to fill the gap with both players struggling throughout the year.

The issues at guard got so bad that the team started Justin Pugh literally "straight off the couch" As the Giants look to both compete now while also looking towards the future the team will need to find long-term solutions at guard.

Mark Glowinski was a cap casualty as the team released the veteran guard to save nearly six million in cap space. Justin Pugh is a free agent who could return if the team wants but, given the current cap situation, the team is unlikely to make him a top priority.

The Giants most likely won't use the sixth pick on a guard given the positional value and the players available in the range of the Giants pick. The team will likely begin looking at guards on day two of the draft where the team holds the 39th, 47th, and 70th pick.

A few of the players the Giants may look to add are Zak Zinter of Michigan, Cooper Beebe of Kansas State, and Zach Frazier of West Virginia.
