The New York Yankees while improving their lineup and their rotation have seen massive pieces from the bullpen depart. The team lost Michael King in the Soto trade and lost Wandy Peralta and Keynan Middleton in free agency. The losses of two of the more important pieces in the bullpen means that the team will need some of the returning pieces to step up in 2024.

One of the most important pitchers in the bullpen in 2024 will be Jonathan Loaisiga. Like many of the players on the team in 2023, Loaisiga dealt with injuries that held him to just 17.2 innings pitched. In the 17 innings, Loaisiga pitched to a 3.06 ERA, which would be a massive contribution over more innings.

If Loaisiga could return to his 2021 form, the Yankees would have a pitcher that can be an All-Star and potentially close games for a team with lofty expectations.

New York Yankees looking for big bounce backs

If the Yankees are going to reach their World Series potential it'll be because of major bouncebacks from some of the teams' vital pieces. The team struggled with injuries in 2023 and the health of the rotation will be the biggest key to success in 2024.

This team has made significant additions but, all will be lost if the rotation can't stay healthy and if the returning pitchers can't reach their previous marks.
