The obvious need for this Knicks team is an instant scorer off the bench who can help boost the second unit in scoring. Enter Jordan Clarkson, the guard is averaging 17.7 points per game with 3.5 rebounds per game, and 4.8 assists per game. While Clarkson's currently a starter he's shown an ability to come off of the bench winning the 2021 Sixth man of the year award.

Clarkson also brings a future with the team as he signed a four-year extension this off-season with a low average annual value of $12.8 million dollars per year. Clarkson will be an expensive add compensation-wise and may cost the Knicks a player like Deuce McBride or Quinton Grimes but, he'd also be an incredible add. Clarkson can be a high-upside scorer for the Knicks especially once the playoffs roll around. The Knicks should look to add scorers at the trade deadline and Clarkson should be one of the top names on the list.

The New York Knicks are in a great spot heading towards the deadline.

If the Knicks stand pat at the deadline many will be okay with it as the group has gelled well and continues to improve. If the Knicks stand pat, they'd also hold all of their assets heading into the summer where they'll be a destination for the league's next disgruntled star.

If the New York Knicks add pieces at the deadline it won't cost much and it will push the team further into the conversation as an NBA Title contender.
