The Brooklyn Nets will have an important summer to figure out the future of their franchise. Fans are split down the middle over the best path. Many want the Nets to trade players like Mikal Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Cameron Johnson for younger assets or draft picks. The belief of entering a full rebuild could see those names moved.

Others hope the team tries to trade for better talent for a stronger chance at making the playoffs. Rumors indicate Brooklyn hopes to sign a few big names over the next few years to build around their current core. This offseason could see moves forcing them to commit to one side or another. The following names are on the trade market and could be realistic options for the Nets.

Darius Garland

The Cleveland Cavaliers also have a tough situation to navigate in the offseason. Reports suggest that the dream scenario is re-signing Donovan Mitchell to a long max contract. A disappointing second-round elimination after an inconsistent regular season has many eyes on the Cavaliers looking to shake things up.

Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen are the likely trade pieces if Cleveland makes moves to appease Mitchell. Brooklyn could be a great spot for Garland since they badly need an upgrade at the point guard position. Limited guard play doomed the team from creating offense easily last season to warrant trading for someone who can fill the point guard role.

Cleveland would be interested in Nets role players like Dorian Finney-Smith and Dennis Schroder coming back. Brooklyn also has a slew of draft picks to tempt them that way. The market may be dry for Garland, as only a handful of teams are open to making big moves for him. Garland could end up a Net if there are no stronger options.
