4. Jacoby Brissett

The Jets will definitely be in the market for a backup quarterback, especially with how last season unfolded. Aaron Rodgers is currently 40 years old and coming off a major injury. It would be foolish to expect him to play in all 17 games.

New York should try to bring in Jacoby Brissett to lock down the No. 2 QB role. Brissett was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft and has carved out a serious role in this league. Brissett has been a spot starter for multiple different teams and kept those teams afloat.

The 31-year-old has started in at least 11 contests in five seasons across his career. In eight years in the NFL, Brissett has compiled 10,574 passing yards with 51 passing touchdowns. He's played for the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders, and Indianapolis Colts. He has experience heading to a new city and being a valuable backup QB.

5. Quinton Jefferson

The Jets will need to be in the market to add more interior defensive linemen. Quinton Jefferson, Solomon Thomas, and Al Woods are all going to hit the open market.

New York rotates their defensive line a bunch and needs some reinforcements along the interior behind Quinnen Williams.

Jefferson is a player they should surely bring back. The 30-year-old has been disruptive in the middle of the defensive line and quickly gets upfield using his quickness. The Maryland product has a clean swim move to beat the man lined up in front of him.

In 14 games last season, Jefferson had 34 total tackles and was third on the team in sacks (6). Jefferson will probably get better with another year in the system. It would be smart for New York to re-sign Jefferson after a productive campaign in 2023.
