5 Impressive Prospects That Could Fall to the Jets at No. 72
NFL Draft week is officially upon us, meaning all 32 teams will have a chance at completely changing their franchises' trajectory. While the Jets pick at 10 will bring excitement, the team has to nail the draft as a whole in order to compete for a Super Bowl in 2024.
New York doesn't own a second-round pick due to the Aaron Rodgers trade, putting extra importance on its third-rounder. What helps the Jets is that there are several top prospects in this class that could likely fall to 72.
5. Ricky Pearsall - Wide Receiver - Florida
If anyone is being hurt by how deep this draft class is at wide receiver it's Ricky Pearsall. His traits and ability would have him selected at the latest in the second round in most classes, but this year he'll be a third-round pick. Pearsall is coming off of a career year, with 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns.
Pearsall is an explosive athlete creating massive plays after the catch while making impressive plays on 50-50 balls. He's also an impressive route runner with the long speed to be a serious deep threat for the Jets offense. If the Jets are unable to land their wide receiver three with the tenth overall pick, then Pearsall would be a worthy candidate.
