Kentucky RB Ray Davis

It didn't matter what school Ray Davis played for, he found ways to be highly productive everywhere he went. Davis started his collegiate career at Temple before transferring to Vanderbilt and then Kentucky. He ran for over 1,000 yards at all three schools, becoming the first player in Division I history to accomplish such a feat.

Despite not having game-breaking speed, Davis was able to accumulate so many yards due to his impressive vision and stop-start ability. He often created his own running lanes by changing his pace and waiting for holes to develop.

Davis also has a nose for the end zone, setting a single-season record at Kentucky by scoring 21 touchdowns his senior year. Given his stocky frame, he excels in goal-line and short-yardage situations but is also a reliable receiver. Seven of his record 21 touchdowns in 2023 came on receptions.

Davis projects to be a three-down back in the NFL and the Giants could use a fresh pair of legs after losing Saquon Barkley. Even though Devin Singletary was signed in the offseason to replace Barkley, the Giants would be better off using a running back-by-committee approach, and Davis would be a great addition to the running back room.
