The New York Giants will look a little different in 2024, but we can expect improvements in specific areas. These new Giants will dominate their New York debuts against the Vikings on Sunday.

2: Brian Burns

It's essential that the Giants pass rushers get to quarterback Sam Darnold before he has enough time to throw. Otherwise, Vikings receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison will capitalize on a weak secondary.

One of the Giants pass rushers who we can expect to dominate their debut on Sunday against the Vikings is two-time Pro Bowler Brian Burns, who Big Blue acquired this offseason in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.

Burns was arguably the Giants' most significant addition this offseason, as he brings experience after five seasons with the Panthers to New York's young defense. Last year, Burns had 50 total tackles (32 solo), eight sacks, one forced fumble, and two passes defended.

While Spiderman enters his sixth year in the league, people forget he's only 26 years old, and with the Giants keeping him in East Rutherford through 2028, this is shaping up to be the move of the offseason for Schoen and Daboll.

Burns is an electric player who will make his presence known on the defensive side of the ball with multiple sacks and quarterback rushes this season. Burns could have double-digit sacks this year, and this defensive line has the potential to be a top-five run defense.

Having Burns opposite edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux and putting two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II in the middle make this defense very scary to go up against.

Many opposing quarterbacks should be scared to face this defensive line. I like this defense against the run, but because the Giants' secondary is weaker, it will be important that this defensive line steps up, gives quarterbacks no time to throw, and puts pressure on opposing offenses. We'll see how Burns and the Giants defense perform against Darnold and the Vikings on Sunday afternoon.
