3 Positives and 3 Negatives From Rangers' Game 4 Overtime Loss
Positive: Alexis Lafreniere is Growing Into a Star
Alexis Lafreniere may have played his best game as a New York Ranger in game three as he scored two of the nicest and most important goals of his career. In Game Three, Lafreniere once again looked like the Rangers' best skater. Lafreniere banked home an incredible Adam Fox pass to tie this game at two coming up clutch once again. Through 13 games, Alexis Lafreniere is fourth on the team in points with 13, scoring 7 goals. This postseason, Alexis Lafreniere is finally blossoming into the star the Rangers expected when landing Lafreniere with the first overall pick.
Negative: Defense Core is Taking a Beating
Coming into this series, there were already concerns about Adam Fox's health after he took a knee on knee hit in game four of the Washington Capitals series. The physical play of the Florida Panthers is clearly taking a toll on Adam Fox as he hasn't looked like his typical self this series. Fox did have an incredible pass to Lafreniere to tie this game at 2-2, but there are concerns for the final three games of this series and beyond if the Rangers can move on.
At one point in this game the Rangers lost Ryan Lindgren as he went to the locker room in the third period after taking a hit from Sam Reinhart. Lindgren is already playing with stitches in his face and you have to be concerned about the health of this defense core as this series continues to roll on.
