The New York Rangers found themselves in Overtime for the third straight game with a chance to head back to Madison Square Garden with a massive 3-1 lead. The Rangers instead took a penalty just 59 seconds into overtime and allowed the overtime winner just 13 seconds later. The positive news is that the Rangers regained home ice advantage as this now becomes a three game series, however there are issues that are clearly hurting the Rangers.

Positive: Igor Shesterkin Continues to Dominate

There are plenty of reasons why the Rangers lost, however one of those reasons is not Igor Shesterkin. In Game Four, Shesterkin saved 37 of the Panthers' 40 shots, keeping the Rangers in this game much longer than they should've been. The team will be fine with the three goals Shesterkin let in, as one was an absolute fluke and the other two were perfect plays by the Florida Panthers. The Rangers have gotten some of the best goaltending of Igor Shesterkin's career and the team needs to step up around him.

Negative: Roster Management Moves are Questionable

After rattling off two straight impressive wins you'd expect that Peter Laviolette would have left the lineup as is heading into game four. The Rangers, however, sat Filip Chytil as the team said he's healthy, but the team is managing his comeback. Peter Laviolette spoke on the decision saying the following:

"You're asking a lot for a guy that's missed six months to come back in and get up to speed. This is part of the plan for him."

In benching Chytil, the team brought back Blake Wheeler who missed the entire second half of the season with a serious leg injury. Rangers fans will have a fair gripe with the team as it makes little to no sense to bring Filip Chytil back if he wasn't fully ready to jump back into playoff hockey.
