The New York Jets had another underwhelming campaign in 2023. There was so much hype around the organization but they weren't able to live up to the expectations. New York went 7-10 and failed to snap the longest playoff drought in the NFL.

There were a bunch of players that didn't produce to the level that fans would have hoped for.

1. Allen Lazard

The Jets were all-in for 2023 and wanted to make sure their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers was comfortable. That's why they brought in Nathaniel Hackett, Randall Cobb, and Allen Lazard. They believed it would be nice for the 40-year-old signal caller to have some familiar faces around.

In March 2023, New York and Lazard agreed to a four-year, $44 million contract with $22 million guaranteed. The expectation was Lazard would step into the No. 2 receiver role and help out Garrett Wilson. He also had a great rapport with Rodgers after playing together since 2018.

Unfortunately for Gang Green, that plan failed miserably. Lazard was a complete non-factor in the aerial attack, struggled to create separation, and piled up penalties. The Iowa State product was even a healthy scratch for three matchups this past year.

Lazard finished the season with a measly 23 receptions for 311 yards and one touchdown. All of these stats were his lowest since 2018. New York wanted to bring the 28-year-old into town for his blocking and contested catch ability. Neither of those transferred over to the Big Apple.
