2. Special Teams Continue to Reign Supreme

The biggest storyline heading into tonight's game was the decision by Rod Brind'Amour to change goaltenders from Frederik Andersen to Pyotr Kochetkov. Many expected to also see massive changes after the Hurricanes went 0-10 on the powerplay in the first two games.

The changes, however, didn't work out as the Hurricanes are now 0-15 on the powerplay after failing to score on five tonight.

Adding insult to injury was Chris Kreider scoring a shorthanded goal on the penalty kill bringing the Rangers to a 1-1 tie with the Canes. The Hurricanes have now had 15 powerplays this series yet the Rangers are outscoring them.

The Hurricanes penalty kill did however step up in their own way as the Rangers went 0-4 on the night.

Heading into game four, you have to imagine that the emotions will be high and that with the physical play, we'll likely see both sides take some penalties. The team that can capitalize on their chances in game four will certainly win the game as both sides are handing the other team four or more powerplays a game.
