The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes were in a war all night as the teams played a physical matchup with the lead changing often. The Rangers held a late lead but, an Andrei Svechnikov goal with 1:36 remaining in the game nearly spelled disaster for the Rangers.

However, the team took the 20-minute intermission to regroup and would return 1:36 later as Artemi Panarin tipped in a pass from Vincent Trocheck to put the Rangers up 3-0 in the series. Here are the biggest takeaways from game three of the series:

1. The Return of Filip Chytil Ends Matt Rempe's Time

After Game Two, it was clear that Peter Laviolette was going to have to replace Matt Rempe as he played the rookie just 4:03 in game two and 7:06 in game one. It was rumored all playoffs that we might see the return of Filip Chytil as he began skating with the team following the end of the regular season.

It was rumored that Chytil was making his return in game three as he skated with the team prior to Thursday.

Filip Chytil would skate for 17 shifts with 12:02 of ice time in his return. Chytil and his line were relatively ineffective except for an incredible effort on the powerplay. In his return, Chytil looked hesitant at times, but as he continues to work his way back, he may provide this Rangers team with a massive boost.
