Cade Cunningham

This one is extremely unlikely to happen but we are dreaming here, aren't we?

If the Detroit Pistons are at a point where they are ready to pull the plug on the Cade Cunningham experiment, the New York Knicks should make some calls.

The Pistons are currently in the midst of one of the worst regular seasons in NBA history. Former no. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham is nowhere near the sole responsible for this. But it's also safe to say that he isn't necessarily driving winning in Detroit. Being the primary offensive option is a role too large for him at this stage of his career.

Pairing Cunningham with Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle would put him in a role where he could be more comfortable. As a secondary or tertiary weapon, Cunningham could function more as an off-ball player which would help with his efficiency and turnover problem.

Thanks to his size, he can play next to Brunson, while guarding the other team's best offensive guard. A player who plays hard and can stay on the court for extensive minutes like Cunningham could quickly become a Tom Thibodeau favorite.

This would likely require all of the draft picks the Knicks can trade, but it could be worth it.

The Knicks currently have the fourth-best odds (+900) in the Eastern Conference to make the NBA Finals. If you think they can pull it off, head over to FanDuel Sportsbook and claim your $200 in bonus bets when you make a $5 winning wager.
