11 Jets Who Won't Be Returning Next Season
10. Billy Turner, RT
Much like Cobb, Billy Turner was another player whom the Jets signed last offseason to appease Rodgers.
The right tackle and quarterback spent three seasons on the Packers together before Turner joined the Denver Broncos in 2022. Funny enough, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was the 32-year-old's head coach that season.
But also like Cobb, Turner left much to be desired last season. The former North Dakota State product made two starts across 14 games with the Jets, allowing four sacks while taking one penalty on 208 total offensive snaps. And despite playing 138 fewer pass-block snaps in 2023 than he did in the previous year, Turner only allowed three fewer pressures (16).
As Turner nears his mid-30s, it's evident that he is who he is at this point and I don't expect a turnaround by September. It's nice that the Jets are willing to do what they can to make Rodgers happy, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. Turner just isn't the type of player that championship-caliber teams should want on the roster.
