Leadership

No matter what happens, the 2020 season is going to be memorable because of the circumstances the COVID-19 pandemic presented. A virtual draft, no-preseason, few-to-no fans at games, and so much more that nobody has ever seen before. Everyone from veterans to rookies are still adjusting to the new protocols, leaving them looking to their coaches to guide them more than ever.

Yes, having leaders like Frank Gore or Golden Tate in the locker room help, but they are still only players. Gase and Judge must earn the respect of their players to keep them focused, as all the traveling, testing, and time away from home will keep everyone on edge.

For Gase, that means shedding the notion he only controls half the locker room. For Judge, it means getting his players on board with the Patriot way and to avoid the off the field noise that has been a distraction all off-season. In the end, for the home teams at MetLife Stadium in 2020, it will be a season nobody will ever forget.
