Buffalo Bills: Predicting the roster for the 2020 Season
Defensive Line
Defensive Line: Jerry Hughes, AJ Epenesa, Mario Addison, Quinton Jefferson, Ed Oliver, Vernon Butler, Star Lotulelei, Trent Murphy, Harrison Phillips
Cuts: Darryl Johnson, Bryan Cox Jr., Mike Love, Jonathan Woodard, Vincent Taylor
The strength of the Buffalo Bills going into 2020 will be their defense, and it all starts upfront. Another deep position for Buffalo, as they will be able to put out many different combinations based on the down and time of the game. They could use different combinations such as:
Starters: Hughes, Oliver, Lotulelei, Addison
Third Down: Hughes, Oliver, Jefferson, Addison
Run Stop: Epenesa, Butler, Lotulelei, Murphy
Speed: Hughes, Oliver, Phillips, Epenesa
Five-Man Front: Hughes, Oliver, Butler, Jefferson, Addison
Defensive Coordinator Leslie Frazier, and Head Coach Sean McDermott must be giddy with excitement with all the possible defensive fronts Buffalo can put on the field.
The most dominant player in this group is the second-year player, Ed Oliver. Buffalo has high hopes for him coming off his stellar rookie campaign. They hope the rookie Epenesa can follow in his tracks.
Buffalo also has a mix of veteran talent with Hughes, Murphy, and Lotulelei and the offseason acquisitions of Addison, Jefferson, and Butler will only strengthen that.
The Bills like the potential and the talent in both Darryl Johnson and Mike Love, but there is not enough spots to have them on the team, so I expect both of them to gain a spot on the practice squad.
