The 2020 MLB Season is going to be interesting, to say the least, but now we at least know the schedule for the New York Mets.

Believe it or not, the New York Mets currently have the fourth-best odds to win the National League pennant and the 12th best odds to win the World Series. The question is; how will they fare in a 60-game season?

More from New York Mets

Of the nine opponents the Mets will play in 2020, they played five of them in 2019 with a record of 42-38. That’s a win percentage of 52.5%, which in 2020 would give them a 31.5-29.5 record, the equivalent to 85.05-76.95 in a typical 162 game season.

However, the good news for the Mets is that a sixth of their games this season are against the Marlins who they went 13-6 against in 2019, and they also get to play the Orioles who had the second-worst record in the MLB last season.

This means 14 of their 60 games this season are against the second and third-worst teams in the MLB from 2019, which gives them a pretty good chance to add up some wins in 2020. In addition to this, the key to a short season is going to be pitching, which is the Mets’ strong suit.

All this being said, it’s going to be an interesting season for the Amazin’s and they might be one of the few teams who benefit from a 60-game season.
