Who is better?

Looking at the Comparable team, as a whole, yields even more comparisons. The first thing that stood out is the batting order is heavily comprised of right-handed hitters. Next, in the spots where the hitters aren’t as strong, those players are good fielders. Just like the current New York Yankees, there is the right balance of offense and defense.

As for the pitchers, each team has two men with “Ace-like” potential and two more who could put up All-Star numbers under the right circumstances. The bullpens have a fire-balling closer and top-tier setup men.

Deciding a winner was a tough call, but the current New York Yankees is a better team than their same-age counterparts. They have a synergy and fit so well with each other. If the Bombers stay healthy they could beat their totals of 103 wins and 306 home runs. In a seven-game series, however, the sides are close enough to make it enjoyable.
