Week 3- New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts – Sunday, 9/27/20 @ 4:00 PM (CBS)

The New York Jets face another team on the rise, this time out of the AFC South. The Indianapolis Colts are a team finally built to win. Two years ago, new head coach, Frank Reich, and general manager Chris Ballard, began to fix the team’s broken roster, which led to a playoff appearance.

Last year, Andrew Luck shocked the football world and retired due to the toll taken on his body during his time in Indy. Former Patriot, Jacoby Brissett took over, and things looked like it might be okay for the Colts as they got off to a roaring 5-2 start and were very close to 6-2 before Brissett went down in Pittsburgh. Brian Hoyer came in and threw a costly pick. The following week, threw four more against Miami, which the Colts that one, as well. Things spiraled from there on out, and the team ended the season 7-9.

The Colts were dealt bad card, after bad card, with the number of injuries that piled up last season. Because of that, this offseason, it was all about depth for GM Chris Ballard. He orchestrated several trades to pick up nine total picks in this year’s draft. The team also added big names like DeForest Buckner via trade, Xavier Rhodes, and Philip Rivers.

The Colts are a team that will be looked at as favorites in the AFC South this year. With some questionable moves made in Houston and the uncertainty of Tennessee, the door is wide open. The Jets will have their hands full with this road contest. The Colts are a complete team on both sides of the ball, and to have a chance, Gang Green will need to be perfect.
