New York Giants: 2020 Schedule Release and Breakdown
Week 8 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Giants took on the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay last season in a game where Daniel Jones made his first career start. Not only would Jones start, but he would also give the Giants their first win of the season while also winning the NFC Player of the Week honors.
Jones had a spectacular game throwing for 336 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 28 yards and two touchdowns as well. Jones burst onto the scene and made everyone who booed him on draft night realize that he might have been a good pick.
One year later, we have a match-up between the same two teams on a Monday night in week eight, but one team is significantly different in 2020 than they were in 2019. Not only did the Buccaneers change their jerseys, but they also added some quarterback who used to play in New England along with his favorite target.
Tampa upgraded from Jameis Winston to Tom Brady, and because of it, they will skyrocket to one of the better teams in the NFC in 2020. With an offense that consists of Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin, the Bucs are going to be almost unstoppable.
New York might have some trouble stopping Tampa when they face-off in week eight. The Giants defense has been the focus of the off-season, but at this moment in time, nobody is quite sure how good it will be next season.
With several new additions including Xavier McKinney from Alabama, James Bradberry, Blake Martinez, and much more, the Giants defense is ready to take a step up in the coming season.
The question is, do they have enough in order to slow down the Buccaneers and put their offense in a position where they don’t have to play catch-up all afternoon?
This will be an interesting match-up for the Giants, but the G-Men seem to have a fair amount of success against teams with Tom Brady under center, so we will have to just wait and see.
