Weeks 5 and 17 vs. the Dallas Cowboys

To the surprise of many, the Giants will NOT be opening the 2020 season against the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington. This year, unlike most, the Giants’ season won’t begin in Dallas against the Cowboys, but instead, they will face off in weeks five and 17.

Although I don’t love the idea that the Giants won’t be opening their season in Dallas against the Cowboys, I LOVE the thought that the Giants could potentially end the Cowboys season in week 17 at MetLife Stadium.

Cowboys Key Additions:

The Cowboys improved quite a bit following the end of the 2019 season on both sides of the ball following a season in which they finished 8-8, missing the playoffs for the second time in the last three seasons.

However, although ‘America’s Team’ finished 8-8, they still beat the Giants in both of their matchups for the third consecutive season. The Giants have lost six straight games to the Cowboys, and if the Giants want to keep that number from turning into a seven or eight, they’ve got their work cut out for them.

The Cowboys offense is going to be an absolute force in 2020, and the Giants are likely going to struggle quite a bit with it. With Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Ceedee Lamb, and an impressive offensive line, points won’t be too hard to come by for the Cowboys.

That is a problem for the Giants. With a defense that was among the worst in the NFL in 2019, Big Blue will likely struggle quite a bit. HOWEVER, the Giants have a new offensive coordinator who is rather familiar with the Cowboys offense, and his name is Jason Garrett, former Cowboys head coach and current Giants offensive coordinator.

Garrett will be able to help the Giants quite a bit in their match-ups against Dallas, and if the G-Men do beat the Cowboys for the first time since 2016, Garrett will be a big reason why.
