With the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select… Andrew Thomas?

Based on that question mark alone you can see where I stand with the New York Giants first-round pick. pick. I’m not a fan, at all. Is Andrew Thomas going to be a good player? There’s a very good chance, but in my opinion, he was the third-best offensive lineman in this draft, and the other two ahead of him would’ve been better picks.

However, we knew Dave Gettleman and the New York Giants would mess this up, so am I surprised? Absolutely not. In my opinion, Thomas was the fourth-best pick the Giants could’ve had at number four. The three who were ahead of him are Tristan Wirfs, Jedrick Wills jr. and Isaiah Simmons.

In an article where I asked several people within the FanSided network who they thought the Giants should, or would pick at number four, none of the seven said Andrew Thomas. Not a single one of them. Nor did any of them say, Andrew Thomas, when I asked who they WANTED the Giants to pick.

Is there a lot of potential in Andrew Thomas? Sure there is, but I still don’t think he was the best pick for the Giants at number four. We all remember what happened with the last offensive lineman the Giants took in the first round. For those of you who don’t, his name is Ereck Flowers, and that is all I will say on the matter.

The New York Giants need A LOT of help on the offensive line. I am very hopeful that Thomas could be the guy to steer the G-Men in the right direction.

Still, he will forever be compared to the other two the Giants could’ve had there, Tristan Wirfs and Jedrick Wills. We will see which of the three ends up being the best pick.

Young players, quarterback Daniel Jones, and running back Saquon Barkley lead the Giants from the backfield. An offensive lineman was probably the best use of the fourth pick.

For that, we will have to wait and judge Andrew Thomas. After all, New York Giants fans were judging Daniel Jones before he took a snap for Big Blue. It turns out he was a pretty good pick. In all fairness, we will have to do the same and wait with Thomas.
