New York Giants: A trio of dream scenarios for the 2020 draft
By Ed Stein
Let’s have a little fun
Once again, New York can take Chiasson with their second first-round pick (18th) and Delpit will be available with the 39th pick.
Herbert and Love are still on the board. L.A. will get one of them. I’m not sure they think very highly of Love and are scared Vegas will jump up ahead of them. Gettleman could get something good out of Bolts GM Tom Telesco, who might give up his second to ensure that Herbert comes to Hollywood.
New York still lands Wirfs with the sixth pick. GMDG sends the 37th pick down the hall to his buddy Joe Douglas. In return, Gettleman gets Gang Green’s second-round pick (48) and the third-rounder (68) he sent NYJ’s way for Leonard Williams.
With their second, second-round pick (at number 48), the New York Giants select center Ceasar Ruiz. It might be a slight reach, but the G-Men need a center. Ruiz can back up Spencer Pulley to begin the season and work his way to be the starter by the end of 2020 or in 2021 training camp.
Yes, it’s a very convoluted scenario, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Big Blue Nation would still be very happy if only the Miami part of this got done.
