The 2020 NFL Combine has come and gone, but one thing that is still running throughout New York Jets fans’ minds is what the Jets’ General Manager, Joe Douglas, had to say.

As a normal trend, the NFL offseason is usually quiet after the Super Bowl is over. But with the 2019 NFL season behind us and the 2020 NFL season on the horizon, we start to get back into the flow of NFL news and rumors. It starts to pick up around combine time, which means that free agency and the draft is around the corner. It also means New York Jets fans are getting excited for some big things to happen in 2020, especially after General Manager Joe Douglas‘ recent presser in Indianapolis.

Since the end of last season, there were lots of questions that beat writers and fans wanted to have answered. What players were going to be resigned? What positions would the Jets prioritize? What is the state of affairs with the current players who expressed frustration during the last regular season? Joe Douglas answered a lot these questions, and then some, giving media and fans something to wrap their heads around.

To be honest, Douglas’ presser should give fans a sigh of relief and some optimism that he understands what he needs to do to right this ship. Jets fans (and even the organization) should be ecstatic that their general manager has an understanding of what it takes to build a successful football team. He is not about the big free agent signings and the quick fixes. But of course, only time will tell, since this will be his first true offseason with the Jets.

So let’s dive in and review some of the key points that Douglas laid out for beat writers and fans.
