1. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have three former MVPs and two pitchers who have combined for four Cy Young Awards on their roster.

They have the reigning National League MVP, Cody Bellinger, the 2018 American League MVP, Mookie Betts and the 2014 NL MVP, Clayton Kershaw who has also won three Cy Young Awards in addition to David Price who has one.

Trading for Betts and Price from Boston was huge for the Dodgers and it makes them even more of a contender for a championship. Having an outfield that includes Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts, and A.J. Pollack is devastating and a large reason why they’re so good this year. Not to mention Joc Pederson, who hit 31 home runs last year, coming off the bench.

Los Angeles has been a World Series threat for what feels like each of the last five years, but they just have yet to get the job done. In 2017 and 2018 they lost in the World Series while in 2019 they lost to the Nationals in the NLDS.

This means that in each of the last three seasons, the Dodgers have lost to the eventual World Series Champion. With the addition of Mookie Betts and David Price, the Dodgers get over the hump and win their first World Series since 1988.

Here is what the Dodgers Opening Day lineup might look like:

Not only do the Dodgers have one of the best lineups in the Majors, but they also have one of the best starting rotations in Major League Baseball as well:

Clayton Kershaw

  • Walker Buehler
  • David Price
  • Ross Stripling
  • Alex Wood
  • Julio Urias

    More from New York Yankees

There’s no question that the L.A. is the biggest threat to the Yankees World Series hopes in 2020. If fully healthy, are the Yankees better or worse than Los Angeles?

This is something we likely won’t have an answer on until mid-June or early-July and it is a question we might not have until October 28th. The Yankees and Dodgers each have incredible lineups and if fully healthy they will both be incredibly dangerous.

A Yankees-Dodgers World Series will undoubtedly be the most popular pick among bettors and for good reason. Come October it’ll be interesting to see if Clayton Kershaw can do his job in the playoffs and there’s a chance that it could make or break their title hopes.

Expect the Yankees and Dodgers to be neck-and-neck throughout the season for the best record in the Majors. They should be the overwhelming favorites to make the Fall Classic up through October from their respective leagues.
