Honorable Mentions

Jason Peters, OT, Age: 38.

Peters is much older but has always been solid. While the Jets should probably go with a  younger approach, he could make a great mentor for some of the younger players. Even at his age, he would still be an upgrade from what the Jets have.

Kelvin Beachum, OT, 31.

While Beachum was probably the best linemen the Jets had in 2019, there are better players out there. A reunion would make sense but he is getting older and Gang Green should probably look for a fresh start.

Ben Garland, C/G, 32

A member of the NFC champions from San Francisco, Garland did a solid job replacing Weston Richburg when the starter went down with a leg injury.

5. Bryan Bulaga, Tackle, 31

Bryan Bulaga has been protecting Aaron Rodgers since 2010. The 10-year pro has a wealth of playoff experience, not to mention a ring on his finger. He played all 16 games last season allowing just four sacks while only called for six penalties.

He hasn’t always been the most reliable guy as Bulaga has battled injury problems in the past. This season he played the majority of snaps and was a huge help in getting the Packers running game going. That talent would be a big help to the Jets. One thing is for sure, experience is always a plus, especially with a guy who protected Green Bay’s franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The New York Jets were one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL last season. The guy who created holes for Aaron Jones and protected the best one of the best quarterbacks to ever do it, for 10 years, is someone Douglas has to consider. He does the two things Gang Green needs the most.
