2. Kobe’s final game at MSG

What a memorable game. Granted, this was not one of the better Kobe vs. Melo matchups, and it was notable because it was Kobe’s final time at Madison Square Garden.

It was clear at this point that the Lakers were looking to rebuild. A team with young players such as Julius Randle, D’Angelo Russell, Roy Hibbert, and Jordan Clarkson was getting ready to move on from Kobe. Even though none of those players are on this team currently, the age of Kobe did not match the development process for everyone else.

Also, at this point in Kobe’s career, you can see that he had very little left in the tank. After numerous injuries at the tail-end of his career, coupled with is age, Kobe was not performing as fans were accustomed to. Nonetheless, this was a memorable night for all NBA fanatics as we got to see one of the greats play their last time at the World’s Most Famous Arena.
