Setting up for the future

What I wish the New York Knicks would do was develop the younger core.  Have a starting lineup of Frank, RJ, Knox, Randle, and Robinson and see what’s there, especially with the defensive presence of recently called up Kenny Wooten coming off of the bench. It may cause the Knicks to lose more games and the idea of creating a winning environment will go out the window. Still, I think many fans want to watch the younger guys get a chance to show what they can do, including me.

As for the future? There is a guy named Lamelo Ball who has the Knicks written all over him. He is 18, but man can he play. His shot has not been very good, but he also has improved greatly over the last few months. Ball is a triple-double threat every night and loves to run.  LaMello at 18 is what his brother Lonzo is right now for the Pelicans, two-and-a-half years into his NBA career, but better.

Having another “Melo” in the Garden would be electrifying and I think he will make everyone around him better. This would be a dream.  If the Knicks land another top-three pick I think Lamelo is the obvious choice.

Next. The day Kobe Bryant scored 61 points at MSG. dark

The Knicks head into the trade deadline with plenty of options. Will Perry and Mills do the right thing for the franchise or will they go for meaningless wins now?
