It’s Giants vs Jets for the second time this year, after these two teams squared off during the preseason. Both kept their game plans very basic and vanilla as not to tip their hands in regular-season play. It looks like the NFL reps forgot to send a message to MetLife stadium that these games count now. Leonard Williams adds a little intrigue to the matchup, coming to Big Blue from the Jets at the trade deadline, but it won’t change much.

If the New York Giants show up defensively early, they’ll break the Jets confidence and roll to an easy win 35-24. If they play just as sloppy and disorganized as the Jets, the Giants will still pull it out, 21-17. Either way, Giants walk away with the win and the Jets creep one game closer to the first overall pick in next year’s draft.

In what has been nothing short of an abysmal season for both teams, the only thing at stake appears to be bragging rights for the respective franchise’s faithful. The underdog New York Jets received good news this week in learning star running back Le’Veon Bell did not suffer any structural damage to his knee in the team’s Week 9 loss to Miami and should be a go for Sunday’s tilt.

A measure of revenge may be the game within the game, so to speak. NYJ 2015 first-round selection Leonard Williams lines up opposite the struggling New York Jets offense for Big Blue. Despite the Giants five-game losing streak, their offense has shown signs of life in recent weeks with the impact of veteran wide receiver Golden Tate and speedy return of Saquan Barkley.

Jets QB Sam Darnold seems to have regressed statistically since his October 13th, return from mononucleosis, triumph over Dallas. He is getting little support from most of his skill position players as well as poor offensive line play. I’ll take the Giants in this one 27-14.
