New York Knicks players fans should look forward to watching
Young Guns to watch
The sophomore has improved his overall strength and conditioning. It shows in his ability to shoot the three with more consistency. His shooting touch still needs improvement but he has shown proper growth from his rookie year to year two.
Kevin Knox also showed in each preseason game that he is unafraid to drive the lane. He got the lay of the league last year. This time around he’ll need to be more of a full-court player. David Fizdale is looking to put in place a defense that attacks in frenzy and swipes the ball on a regular basis. Knox has long arms and quick hands and playing next to Frank Ntilikina will also benefit him based on the pressure and improvements that Frank has shown on both ends of the court.

R.J Barrett
The New York Knicks drafted RJ Barrett this year and they expect him to be the most amazing super-human team savior since Patrick Ewing. This is not a realistic expectation for the rookie, he will need room to grow and expand his game. However, Barrett will be an immediate contributor to this Knicks roster.
Barrett brings high energy and a slashing ability that rivals that of his teammate Dennis Smith Jr. Barrett is naturally stronger than both Frankie and Knox coming out of school. He will have the ability to showcase his strength with the shooters he has around him.
The rookie will need to bring that consistent high-energy and ability to take the ball away on defense. It won’t be easy but it will absolutely be crucial to his early-season success as he looks to gain his barrings against prime NBA competition on multiple back to back nights.

The Knicks will be looking to find the best combination of players for about the first month of the season. Though this team will be competitive now, true Knicks fans shouldn’t be under the impression that this team is an immediate competitor.
