The Buffalo Sabres are proving to be the real deal to start the season. Coach Ralph Krueger has found the keys to success.

The Buffalo Sabres have successfully stepped into the start of this year. They have a young overall roster, a relatively NHL-inexperienced head coach, and a problem in the net that was classified as devoid of true talent outside of place holder Carter Hutton and the young players coming from AHL and OHL respectively, Their 10-1-1 beginning to the 2019-20 season is a surprise to many.

Buffalo’s hot start has this team playing loose and free. Coach Ralph Krueger’s Buffalo Sabres team plays with speed, tenacity, and passion. On the ice, they look like a team that can sustain their momentum and this level of play.

Last year the Sabres went on a 10 game winning streak and they showed the signs of a team playing on the edge of greatness and disaster. As we all know now they fell into that disaster range, unable to show a desire or fight to maintain their level of play.

As things began to tumble out of control last season they showed no signs of being able to step out of their funk and it was apparent. That Sabres team also never seemed comfortable in the style of play they were being asked to display. Subsequently, the player’s displeasure showed through the effort they put forth on the ice.

This year however after wrapping up a West Coast run that has them on top of the Atlantic Division, Eastern Conference, and NHL with 17 points. The Buffalo Sabres look like a lock to finish the month of October on top of the Eastern division, if they can continue in their new ways.
