Last Week

New York Giants

Big Blue tried to go blow-for-blow with the New England Patriots. In the end, they didn’t have enough talent to keep pace with the NFL’s best team on Thursday night, falling 35-14. New York Giants rookie quarterback got a crash course playing against an elite defense. He threw three interceptions. The Giants defense showed improvement and did the best they could against Tom Brady‘s offense, but was on the field too long.

Leaders:

  • QB Daniel Jones – 15/31, 161 yards, 1 TD, 3 interceptions, 2 rushes, 8 yards.
  • WR Golden Tate – 6 receptions, 102 yards, 1 touchdown.
  • MLB Alec Ogletree – 12 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 quarterback hits.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona pulled out to 27-10 lead in the third quarter and then had to fight like hell as the Falcons made a furious second-half comeback. This game was tied 27-27 in the fourth before the team’s exchanged late touchdowns. The difference was after Atlanta’s final score kicker Matt Bryant missed an extra point to tie it up.

Leaders:

  • QB Kyler Murray – 27/37, 340 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 11 carries, 32 yards.
  • RB David Johnson – 12 carries, 34 yards, 1 TD, 6 receptions, 68 yards, 1 TD.
  • LB Haasan Reddick – 8 tackles (7 solo), 1 tackle for loss.

This Week

Before the season started, this one appeared to be a win for Big Blue. Arizona, however, has stepped it up the past few weeks. A win Sunday keeps New York one game out of first place in the NFC East.

The New York Giants will need to keep Cards quarterback Kyler Murray contained in the pocket because he’ll cause havoc should he be allowed to run free. On offense, the G-Men must avoid their recent penchant of turning the ball over and to keep Arizona’s beleaguered defense on the field by controlling the clock.
