Players to start

Jon Hilliman – RB, NYG

Out of all the must starts this week, Hilliman is the one I am most unsure of. He looked solid against the Vikings on Sunday and had a great pre-season. Those types of indicators should be reasons why fantasy owners should start him this week.

There is also another reason why. The Patriots run defense was suspect a couple of weeks ago up in Buffalo. They allowed father time Frank Gore to rush for 109 yards. Both running backs, Gore and Hilliman are built the same, with Hilliman having a little more juice.

Due to rain in the forecast Thursday night, Hilliman should get a lot of carries, especially if Jones is having trouble throwing the ball. The Giants hope the former Scarlet Knights back can become the next onfield Ray Rice, who stared at Rutgers.

Golden Tate – WR, NYG

Tate was on my must start list last week, and underperformed. It was to be expected that he would need some time getting adjusted, and that was last week’s game. Tate should get more looks this week.

Between him and Darius Slayton, with Sterling Shepard out, going with the vet is the better option. Tate knows how to work against a defense like the Patriots and should help young Daniel Jones this week. The Patriots are weak from the slot corner position which is a great matchup for the duo to exploit.

In a PPR league, Tate should be a wide receiver three this week because he will get lots of catches on slant routes. GT3 will also line up on the outside where he could get some bubble screens as well. If you are low on wide receivers this week because of teams on a bye, Tate is a great pick up for a fantasy win.

Sony Michel – RB, NE

Michel should be the Patriots best player this week. He is going up against a defense that allowed Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison to run all over the MetLife field on Sunday. Michel also looked great against a Redskins defense that is much better than Big Blue’s.

Each week the Patriots say they need to give Michel more touches. Some fantasy owners are skeptics because New England still has Rex Burkhead and Brandon Bolden on the roster, who take attempts away from Michel week after week. Do not worry dearies.

Michel has seen his carries go up and has even gotten more involved in the passing game. He had three catches for 32 yards against Washington, his best receiving performance of the year. It will be a run-heavy game for both teams, but Michel is the better runner and will be fantasy gold this week.
