The New York Giants lost a tough one Sunday at home 28-10 to Minnesota. Here are our Zeroes and Heroes from the game.

The New York Giants two game-winning street came to a halt on Sunday. Big Blue dropped a 28-10 decision to Minnesota. The Giants didn’t get totally creamed, but they once again came up short against a good team. It was a learning experience for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, he found out what it’s like to play against a good defense.

As far as the Big Blue defense goes, their performance left much to be desired. They couldn’t stop the run or the pass. When they did manage to make a good play, it was undermined by a penalty or a bad play soon after. The D was incredibly inconsistent as they struggled to get off the field.

Minnesota had 490 yards of total offense, 211 yards rushing, and 279 yards passing. Vikings running back Dalvin Cook in particular carved up New York’s defense with 218 combined rushing and receiving yards, that was more than the entire Giants team had (211). The D did have one takeaway, but on the next play it turned out to be all for nothing.

The G-Men, as mentioned earlier, struggled to move the ball all day. No player gained over 62 yards. When they did have opportunities, the offense couldn’t convert them into points. After breakout performances the two prior weeks, this game was a big let down. It won’t get any easier for Game 6, as the Giants play Thursday night in New England.
