The Philadelphia Sack Exchange

The Jets offensive line was nonexistent on Sunday as they gave up an incredible ten sacks to the Eagles defense. Falk spent a majority of the game either running for safety or picking himself up off the ground. Eagles linebacker Brandon Graham recorded three sacks on his own in the victory as the offensive line became trivial throughout the game.

The Eagles controlled the line of scrimmage and dismantled any sort of protection for Falk throughout the contest. The interceptions were caused by immense pressure, and the most embarrassing play was the strip-sack for a touchdown by Eagles newcomer Orlando Scandrick. The play seemed unrealistic that a defensive back could completely disregard the protection and run free into the backfield.

The discussion will continue about Falk’s performance but, the entire implosion of the offense can’t fall on a young quarterback. The veterans in that huddle need to make it a priority to keep the quarterback healthy and avoid another severe injury, as in the case of Trevor Siemian.

Gase has dug himself a bigger hole after this performance and will hope for good home cooking when the team returns to Metlife stadium next week.
