The Brightest Stars

Players to start this week

Cole Beasley – WR, BUF

Cole Beasley was in the start column last week and is not going to move for this match up. John Brown has led the team in targets, but Beasley leads the team in receptions with 28. That put him on pace for over 90 receptions on the year. During his time in Dallas, Beasley was a great option for Tony Romo and Dak Prescott, now he’s got something good going in Buffalo as well.

Last week against New England, Matt Barkley threw to Beasley more on the final drive than to any wide receiver. They clearly want him involved in critical situations. Beasley has become Allen’s reliable, favorite target The Titans are weak at slot corner and Beasley is one of the best slot guys in the league.

Beasley had seven receptions for 75 yards against a great New England Defense. I expect him to improve with 10 receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown this week.

Dawson Knox – TE, BUF

What an insane, falling catch Dawson Knox made Sunday against Patrick Chung of the Patriots. Right then and there I knew I did not give this player enough credit last week.

For two straight weeks, the rookie out of Ole Miss has provided stability and a spark to the offense. He has scored over five points in two games and looks to repeat this week against Tennessee.

The Titans won Sunday’s game convincingly but struggled to cover TE Austin Hooper. He had 130 yards receiving. I expect the Bills to capitalize on that. Get the Knox jerseys ready in Buffalo when he goes for eight receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown this week.

Frank Gore – RB, BUF

Frank Gore is now fourth on the all-time leader list for career rushing yards. He is only a little over 3,000 yards away from breaking Emmitt Smith’s record. If Gore keeps playing the way he did last week for three more years, anything is possible

Gore looked like James Bond against the Patriots. A man on a mission. He has clearly become the lead back in Buffalo. For the previous three weeks, Gore has scored 14,14, and 10 points respectively.

Leonard Fournette ran for 66 yards against the Titans, and he is a similar back to Gore. The offensive line for Buffalo is much better than Tennessee’s defensive front, so Gore should not have a problem rushing for more. This week Gore will get closer to Barry Sanders all-time rushing record, going for 150 yards on 18 carries.
